  • How to Prepare for Success

    How to Prepare for Success

    How to prepare for success?

Have you ever wondered why success looks so easy to a small select few and the masses seem to struggle to get by?

Those few people seem to expect success no matter what they do.

Do you want to know their secret…

They prepare to succeed, by mastering the only thing on earth that can be mastered, …the self, and more specifically, the mind.

When I was young, my dad would take me for long drives along the waterfront, and we would drive through the most exclusive neighborhoods.    He would point to the million dollar estates and say, “Dawn, if you want to be successful in life, find out what these people do and do it!”  He was a doer and the only way he could imagine the owners of the big houses getting there was by doing something different than he did.

As I grew older, I wanted to know more about what people did to become successful.  I soon found out that they were not all doctors and lawyers or engineers with advanced degrees as I had been told.   They were artists, authors, a plumber, and a woman whose husband died and left her with nothing and she did what she knew how to do, she baked!  And she baked her way to the big house on the water.   I was young, and it made a huge impact on me to see that these people were just like I was.  They were curious, creative, and full of possibility.   Eventually, I realized if I wanted to be successful, I had to find out what successful people think and then spend the rest of my life aligning my thoughts with those thoughts.   The real magic for me was learning not to think like them, but learning to think for myself.

In order to be successful we must think of ourself as successful.

And still few of us know how to change our thoughts so we can prepare ourselves for continuous growth and success.

Learning how to think so your thoughts guide your feelings and your actions is the most important thing you can do for yourself. You do this by developing your mind.

“…your mind is equipped with mental muscles, just as yourbody is equipped with physical muscles. You already know how to develop your body’s physical muscles through exercise to develop your mind, you need to develop your “mental muscles,” which are your “intellectual faculties.” excerpt from 7 Keys to Freedom: The Ultimate Guide to Developing the Mind

Think of your ability to think as the ultimate tool box to help you succeed regardless of the circumstances, situations, or events in your life.  Regardless of the people you come in contact with.

You have the power to form and mold your mind to match whatever reality you choose to create.  That is the power of thinking purposefully, powerfully, and joyfully.

The only thing you have exclusive control over in your life is the way you think.

Start now, develop your mind and prepare to succeed.

You’ll be surprised by all the wonderful benefits you’ll discover once you do!

  • Are You Tuned Into the Flow of Abundance in Your Business?

Are You Tuned Into the Flow of Abundance in Your Business?

Do you experience the flow of abundance in your business?

Abundance is all there is! Are you in tuned to the flow of abundance in your life? How about in your business?

At this very moment, you are either experiencing an Abundance of prosperity and supply or an Abundance of lack.

    Which is it for you?

I was working with a client recently who asked me how I come up with so many different ideas that help businesses of various shapes and sizes prosper so easily, and I explained,  “I tune into the abundant flow of ideas that are already out there waiting for someone to take the idea and run with it.  I tune into abundance.”

Then I asked her where in her business she would like to benefit from tuning into abundance.  She laughed and said,  “I’d like to tune into an abundance of referrals so I won’t have to work so hard finding new clients!”

Until she was consciously aware of what she wanted she was unconsciously tuning into it’s opposite- she was tuning into the abundant of lack of referrals instead of the abundant flow of referrals who were excited and ready to work with her.

The same is true for you in your business.  Where in your business would you like to benefit from tuning into abundance?

You’re either experiencing an abundant supply of clients or an abundant of lack of clients.

You are either experiencing an abundant supply of referrals and new ideas or an abundant lack of referrals and new ideas.

    Which is it for you?

When you begin to think in terms of abundance as all there is, you begin to think entirely on a new plane of awareness about what is possible for you and your business.   You begin to see that you have a choice in what you focus on in your business.

The moment you tune into the abundant supply of what you want in your business, your intuition and imagination will begin to give you ideas and plans on how to harvest the supply.    All you have to do if follow the plan and take inspired action to create a tidal wave of prosperity in your business whenever you want it.

Remember, you can have an abundance of headaches, struggles, and stresses in your business OR you can have an abundance of freedom, ease and joy in growing a truly amazing business that serves more and more people every day.

    The choice is yours!

I’d love to hear your stories, leave a comment below and share your experiences how you tune into the abundant supply of prosperity in your business!

  • How Gratitude Can Help Your Bottom Line

How Gratitude Can Help Your Bottom Line

Quite frankly it took a long time for me to really understand and appreciate gratitude for it’s power and simplicity.  I have come to know gratitude as the most powerful feeling you can possibly experience and when I went beyond simply feeling grateful for the things in my life and really started to add gratitude as a part of my business everything changed.

If someone would have told me that gratitude is something that I could turn on at will, or that it was a choice, I might have thought they were crazy!

You see, I thought that in order to feel grateful for anything in life, the people, circumstances and situations around me needed to change… THEN I could feel grateful.  I didn’t realize it was something that I could choose.  When I got this straight in my mind and I started to use gratitude as a tool to see the value in every area of my life, not just the money in the bank, the way I conducted business began to shift from wondering where the next client was going to come from to having an steady stream of referral business.  Now, I’m not saying I’m an expert on gratitude, or that I get it right every time.  I certainly don’t.  But I do make gratitude a priority.  Those circumstances and situations that weren’t so agreeable in the past began to take new form.  The true magic was happening inside of me.  The outside world didn’t change however how I felt about the ebb and flow of life and business did change when I decided to be grateful for all of it!

When I was a teen, my grandmother would send me stationary and packages of thank you cards regularly.  I think she was trying to tell me something!  And to tell you the truth, the only time I used them was to send my grandmother a Thank You card for the Thank You cards!  I was such a results oriented person that I just couldn’t connect with how gratitude could be something that would make any difference in my life.

It seemed so simple to me that the results are revealed in the numbers, but relationships are not built on numbers.  They are built on connection.   And it is the connection we have with people that creates the results!  The relationships we nurture in our business DO create and increase our numbers.

Don’t take my word for it.  This is something you’ll have to experience for yourself, if you are willing.

Not only has gratitude given me a new sense of freedom over my emotions, it has also given me freedom in my business and in my numbers, and for that I am forever grateful.

Gratitude is an emotion that keeps you connected to where you are, where you’ve been, and where you are going.  It keeps you connected to yourself, your friends and family, and to the source of all creation!

I still have to remind myself to use the Thank You Cards that I buy, it is not easy for me to remember, however I make it a priority.

I’d love to hear how you attract more business with gratitude.

Until next time, BE grateful, think BIG, Take Inspired Action, and Enjoy the Journey!

  • How to Manage Fear in Business

How to Manage Fear in Business

    Fear is a Good Thing

Stay with me, as I explain why that is and give you some tools to really pay attention to your fears and use them as a launching board for your new level of success in your business.  I re-read the post I wrote about “The 3 Fears that Stop You From Winning in Business” after someone left a comment and I was inspired to write a follow up post to really help you understand that fear is a good thing.

Now, think of your business and those times that you made a huge leap in results.  If you are a consciously aware business owner, you’ll see how those leaps in results came on the heels of doing something that required a bit of good old fashioned faith and courage!

I know this is true for me.  Creating videos required me to call on huge reserves of faith and courage and as a result my Columbus BizTV channel  “Your Winning Mindset” had more views than the other Columbus BizTV channels in May.  Which led to more exposure, and in turn more people signed up for my free webinar and newsletter, and the results are still coming from my courage to take action in spite of not feeling confident on camera, and wanting to quit an try something new (“Maybe I should do more blogging!”).   I still experience some fear in business, however I’m currently leaping with faith and courage in another area of my business.  It is too soon to share anything tangible so I’ll save that for another post.

  • Who Are You?

    Who Are You?

Who are you? Why does it matter that you at least have an idea of how to answer the question, “Who am I”?

Without being able to answer the question, who am I, you are prone to aimlessness in your business and in your life.  How can you possibly gain trust from your clients, customers, or even friends if you don’t trust yourself?

You don’t have to have the answer to the big question, “WHO AM I?” But having an idea of who you are being on a day to day basis and more importantly who you are becoming will help activate the forces of the universe to come to your aid and support you in everything you do.

    So, who are you?

  • 3 Fears that Stop You From Winning in Business

3 Fears that Stop You From Winning in Business

Do you know the cause of success and failure in YOUR business?

Most entrepreneurs don’t realize that there are hidden fears keeping them from the success they want. Learn  to recognize these three fears when they arrive so you can take courageous action immediately.

Which of these fears keep you from winning in business?

    1.  The Fear of Failure/Success

The fear of failure and the fear of success have the same symptoms.  You know you suffer from either, if you start many projects and never seem to complete anything! You set goals and can’t seem to move yourself into action. Shift your focus from you and to the good you are providing the world through your product or service.  Complete the projects you start, and try focusing on growth instead of goals.

    2.  The Fear of Poverty

Fear of poverty shows up when you work alone, you rarely seek outside help. You may feel like there just isn’t enough time, or money to go around.  Also you could feel like there is not enough of YOU to go around.

Learning to practice abundance consciousness helps calm the fear of poverty.  Practice using affirmations.

“There is enough time to do all that needs to be done.”

“There is enough money to invest in things that will help my business grow.” And hire competent people to help you when you need it.

Try these affirmation starters: I am enough to…,  I know enough to…, I attract enough to….

    3.  The Fear of Criticism

And finally, the fear of criticism manifests as the inability to make a decision.   This is sometimes masked by the need to constantly bedoing something.  If this sounds like you, stop what you are doing. Then mindfully ask yourself, “What decision am I avoiding making right now?”

Use the “5 Steps to Making Winning Decision” in a previous video and follow up with action!

Don’t let the fear of failure, poverty, or criticism stop you from winning in business or in life!

3 Keys to Creating a Winning Business Mastermind

Q: What do the Wright Brothers, Susan B Anthony, Andrew Carnegie, and even Helen Keller have in common?

A: They all achieved historical success AND they each had a Mastermind!

According to Napoleon Hill, in his success classic, Think and Grow Rich, “A mastermind is when two or more people work in perfect harmony for the attainment of a definite purpose.”

A business mastermind is a force of nature, constantly moving you forward towards your goals and plans, towards your definite purpose whether it is to fly, speak, build empires, or change the course of history.

Do you have a definite purpose?

If so, a business mastermind group may be the answer you’ve been looking for!

  • Think & Grow Rich in 13 Steps

Think & Grow Rich in 13 Steps

13 Steps to Think & Grow Rich from a Feminine Perspective

In the pursuit of wealth and success, many delve into strategies, techniques, and formulas that are designed for material gain only.  These approaches can be effective.   However, they often overlook the impact spiritual principles can have on creating prosperity. Napoleon Hill’s classic book “Think and Grow Rich” is a testament to the power of mindset and intention in achieving abundance.   I’ve read TGR every year for 20 years and when I decided to facilitate Think and Grow Rich book studies for women, “Nappy” started sharing little Secrets with me as I read the book.  I felt him sitting on my shoulder, whispering in my ear.  “You know Dawn, if I were to have written this book, just for women, I would have used different words for many of the principles.

So I started to share what I was hearing with the women who were enrolled in the groups I was facilitating.  Here, are some of the ‘changes’ that Hill suggested for women who were learning the 13 steps to think and grow rich.  It offers a more spiritual approach and a feminine perspective to growing rich.

    1. Align with Your Purpose:  At the core of spiritual growth lies the discovery and alignment with one’s true purpose. Seek to understand what truly fulfills you and how you can serve others through your unique talents and gifts.

    2. Cultivate Abundance Consciousness:  Shift your mindset from scarcity to abundance. Recognize that the universe is infinitely abundant.   There is more than enough for everyone to prosper.

    3. Practice Gratitude: Gratitude is the gateway to abundance. Cultivate a daily practice of acknowledging and appreciating the blessings in your life, both big and small.

    4. Set Clear Intentions: Clearly define your goals and intentions. Be specific about what you want to manifest in your life and set your intentions with clarity and conviction.

    5. Visualize Success: Use the power of visualization to see yourself already living life with your desired outcomes. Visualize with vivid detail and engage all your senses to make your visions feel as real as possible.

    6. Release Limiting Beliefs:  Identify and release any limiting beliefs that are holding you back from realizing your full potential. Replace these beliefs with empowering thoughts that align with your highest good.

    7. Trust in Divine Timing:  Understand that everything unfolds in divine timing. Trust that the universe has a plan for you and that everything is happening for your highest good.  Ifit doesn’t seem that way at the moment, trust that it true.

    8. Take Inspired Action: Take inspired action towards your goals. Listen to your intuition and follow the guidance of your inner wisdom. Trust that each step you take is leading you closer to your desired outcome.

    9. Embrace Failure as Feedback: See failure as an opportunity for growth and learning. Use setbacks as valuable feedback to course-correct and refine your approach.

    10. Practice Detachment:   Detach from the outcome and surrender to the flow of life. Trust that everything is unfolding exactly as it should and release any attachment to how things “should” be.

    11. Serve Others: Cultivate a spirit of service and generosity. True wealth comes from giving rather than receiving.   Look for opportunities to uplift and support others on their journey.

    12. Stay Aligned with Your Values:  Stay true to your values and integrity in all your dealings. Honor your word, treat others with respect, and operate from a place of authenticity and integrity.

    13. Celebrate Your Successes:  Finally, celebrate your successes along the way. Acknowledge and celebrate your achievements, no matter how small, and use them as fuel to propel you forward on your journey.

Thinking and growing rich from a spiritual perspective involves aligning with your purpose, cultivating abundance consciousness, practicing gratitude, setting clear intentions, visualizing success, releasing limiting beliefs, trusting in divine timing, taking inspired action, embracing failure as feedback, practicing detachment, serving others, staying aligned with your values, and celebrating your successes. By integrating these spiritual principles into your pursuit of wealth and success, you can tap into the infinite abundance of the universe and manifest your deepest desires with grace and ease.

I love info-graphics AND Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.  The graphic shows Hill’s original language that you can use to compare to the more spiritual ideas I write about.

  • Let Freedom Ring

    Let Freedom Ring

It seems lately I’m obsessed! I’m obsessed with freedom in all forms.

Last week, I took a road trip to Philadelphia and the theme for me was freedom.

My husband will tell you that my theme has always been freedom.  It is what it is.

I value freedom above, pretty much everything.  Which is why I get so excited when someone I know pursues a crazy dream or makes a wild purchase that makes no sense to anyone but them.  This is why I get excited when I hear of a neighbor taking a line dancing class, or a stay at home mom learning to scuba dive, just because she wants to.

Freedom is that internal ring that lies deep inside your heart that says,  “Sing! Dance!”

What do you do to let freedom ring in your life?
