If you love affirmations and you enjoy the shifts they help you create in your life, you’ll love Activations. After posting a simple image post with an #Activation, I received some feedback and a few questions regarding the difference between the two. I wanted to share that conversation with you…
Here is a look at the post I shared about Purpose #Activations on Facebook:
Activations are powerful statements with the sole/soul purpose of Activating your DNA – Divine Natural Alignment(TM).
Activations “turn on” the lights of who you already are.
Activations feel powerful the first time you say them, because they come from a place of power within you.
What is the difference between an Activation and an Affirmation?
Here is a piece of the conversation that deeped the awareness of the power of Activations:
So, What Is The Difference?
Affirmations are convincing statements, designed to convince ourselves through “I am” statements.
Activations are statements of truth, they “turn you on” when you say them.
The most powerful activation statements start with “I am activated!”
Affirmations are designed to help you change your perception of what is.
Activations are designed to help you own the power of your truth so you can take action that flows with ease from you.
Activations don’t have to start with “I am.”
Activaitons ignite higher frequencies and powerful emotions.
Here are some great #Activations to help you Activate (Turn on) your DNA Divine Natural Alignment(TM).
“I am activated to peace, joy, and fun in my life.”
“I am activated to share my gifts and my light.”
“I rock!” (One of my favorites!)
“I was born for this!”
“I activate truth in this situation.”
“I am activated to higher and higher freqencies!”
You almost want to put an exclaimation point(!) at the end of each activation statement. They make you feel that good.
Affirmations without the feelings have no power, which is why learning about activation statements can really help. I love affirmations and activations. The real magic is in choosing statements that trigger feelings that light you up and make you feel more YOU!
My personal activation statement helps me stay focused on the value I provide to the world. “I activate Self-Appreciation!” And it keeps me moving, and sharing, and connecting with more people who want to activate the magic in their world.
Oh, If you want to connect with Cindy and read her affirmations book or view her activating art (yes, art activates!) you can find her at CindyHeadley.com, or check out her book on Amazon.
Dearest Luminary Entrepreneur, The hardest thing you’ll ever do is to stop trying to fix it. (whatever “it” is.) There is nothing to fix, or figure out. Your expansion and alignment come from being at peace with where you are. Feel yourself feel those feelings. Transmute the thoughts of “I should be farther along than this!” to “Look how far I’ve come!”
Please, stop trying to figure out what is wrong with you. There is NOTHING wrong with you. I appreciate you. The only work you need to do is appreciate yourself. And when the ego says, “I could never do that!” That is when you dive deep and learn to appreciate yourself the most. In ALL of my years of learning, praying, growing, studying, mastering the mind, writing, then teaching, and training, and coaching, and speaking, and creating, NOTHING has made as big of an impact on my life than the work of self-appreciation. This is not just true for me, it is true for the people I’ve shared the sacred art of self-appreciation with. You can’t own your greatness until you accept and appreciate yourself where you are.
There is a lot of talk about ‘gratitude,’ however I’ve found that gratitude misses the mark for me and I practed gratitude (still do to some extent) consistently for 10 years. Gratitude says, “Thanks for being in my life. I like having you here.” Appreciation says, “I see the VALUE in your presence in my life. I get you. You increase who I am.” Discovering the value of yourself is the work of self-appreciation. You don’t see it all at once, however when you practice appreciating yourself daily, through writing, sharing with others how you appreciate yourself, you release all of the “shoulds” in your life and you find your authentic desires. The law of desire sets in an you can’t help but grow with more ease and grace. You have more faith in your direction, a clearer mind, an open heart, and you become aware that everything you’ve been looking for is right there inside of you all the time.
I hear you asking for help to find what is broken in you. The only thing that is broken is your ability to love and appreciate yourself.
You think your abilty to manifest is broken? No, just your ability to appreciate yourself. You think your confidence is broken? No, just your ability to authentically appreciate yourself. You think your relationship is broken? No, just your ability to appreciate yourself. You think your finances are broken? Appreciate yourself! YOU are your point of attraction. YOU are the center of YOUR universe. YOU are the light you seek. YOU are not and never have been broken.
I know there is nothing I can do to convince you that BIG changes come from this simple practice. You just have to try it for yourself. And let me know how the work of self-appreciation works for you.
“Dawn I enjoyed your comments at our meeting, especially your comment about the founding fathers of our country being a mastermind group, I agree. Perhaps you could elaborate on their actions and the sacrifices they made.” D.S.
I’m in deep appreciation for all that our Founding Fathers had to do to birth this great nation we live in where freedom and the pursuit of happiness are the container that they created for us to fill as we wish.
Your question is about the action and sacrifices they made and I hope my answer adds more understanding to a mastermind group that is living in a world that was molded by the Desire for more freedom for all.
Our founding fathers lived in an environment that was threatening to their sense of freedom and with every action they took they had to embody their own inner independence in order for them to experience independence as a nation. This is really important to note. They sacrificed their ‘ego-self’ for the love of independence of generations to come.
Our current environment is one where each of us has the freedom to pursue happiness and freedom in so many different ways. We can choose to help others in as many ways as we can imagine. We no longer have an environment of oppression only the energetic memory of oppression that we project onto the world when we are not owning our own freedom to be who we truly are. (Note to self: Read this again a few times and let it sink into your heart.)
Each of our founding fathers had to sacrifice who they were as members of British Coloines to become who they truly were as an Independent Nation. They had to move forward and find their individual answers to their deepest questions of what does it mean for “me” to have my sovereignty.
Our founding fathers created the environment and consciousness that we now live in. Any mastermind we participate in now is creating an environment and a consciousness for those in the group to embody. Our willingness to OWN the expanded consciousness that is created within the mastermind group and help others just by being the expanded version of ourselves and own our personal freedom is the only action we are required to “do” as we move from one moment to another.
The Mastermind is like the collective Will, it creates a new environment and consciousness for a new level of freedom and consciousness to emerge.
I love the sacrifieces our Founding Fathers made but we don’t have to sacrifice in the same way they did. However many of us do and have sacrificed so much to become who we are. We have let go of the past, burned bridges, etc. to be free in our own way.
There are a lot of coaches and mentors sharing their New Year’s rituals like coming up with a theme, or choosing three words to guide you through the year. This year I’m doing things slightly different.
At the beginning of last year, I knew I wanted deeper relationships, more intimate conversations, and to be more present to my family. I received what I asked for abundantly! However, there were some unexpected surprises that the year brought that were a result of the intentions I set. Those surprises are the hidden gifts of 2014 that I want to take the time to not only appreciate, but to celebrate!
Celebration #1 – Discovering that I am a HUGE success!
I’ve lived a fairly interesting life by most people’s standards, and yet I always felt that I was chasing an elusive ghost called “Success.” No matter how much I did, or how much I accomplished, I never felt truly successful… until this year. This year I heard myself saying on a number of occasions, “I feel successful because I listen to my inner guidance.”
Before this year, I had adopted a definition of success that didn’t leave me feeling successful. The definition of success that I’ve been using up until this point is, “Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal.” This definition of success is about pursuit. It makes perfect sense that I wouldn’t feel successful unless I was chasing some dream that was ‘out there’ somewhere separate from me. Hearing myself express my success as a function of my ability to listen and follow my inner guidance was a huge shift for me.
I had been taught to separate success from guidance, so in my mind my I was never successful. I would pursue a worthy ideal and when my guidance would give me a new direction or inspiration to slightly shift the course, I’d listen and shift. I have met the most amazing people, had amazing life experiences, enjoyed deep love, and pretty much get to live the life of MY dreams because I listen to my inner guidance. And every time I didn’t complete what I started, because I listened to my guidance, I felt like I had somehow failed. This year has taught me that my ability to listen to guidance and to act on it IS my success. So no matter what I do from now on, as long as I’m listening to my inner guidance and not ignoring it, I’ll know I am successful!
Celebration #2- Letting Go
This year I let go of more expectations regarding other people and I’m settling into more acceptance. I have been practicing forgiveness for the past 25 years however the new levels of “letting go” are bringing in a new layer of awareness about how our expectations affect how we feel and how we heal. I’m more and more mindful of the expectations I have that prevent me from allowing or receiving the fullness that life has to offer.
This was a huge year for letting go. I let go of a lot of things I really loved but weren’t exactly making me happy. I’m much happier now. I also let go of a lot of things that I people said I “should” do. The more I let go, the more freedom I have.
Celebration #3- Learning to Appreciate Myself
This is an ongoing pursuit of mine; the pursuit of self-appreciation. Earlier this year I was asking my inner guidance how can I help my clients really ‘get’ that they are amazing and understand that things are so much easier than we make them. I received a clear message, “You can’t make them, however here are 24+ ways to activate your DNA.” According to my guidance, we activate our DNA by appreciating ourselves without judging or trying to figure it out. I decided to start practicing what I’ve come to understand as “The Sacred Art of Self-Appreciation” 2014 was the year I learned to truly appreciate myself. This was not the easiest thing in the world for me to do because I harbored so many inner judgments. Not pretty. I started a Facebook group at the suggestion of a dear friend and mentor of mine and I invited a few friends to join. I posted at least a few times a week since March about what I appreciate about myself, my gifts, my work and it has been the single most transformational thing I’ve ever done. I’ve learned that I am so much more powerful than I ever imagined and I’ve learned that it is not easy to appreciate ourselves. You’ll hear a lot more about this in 2015.
There are so many gifts that 2015 brought me through my commitment to appreciating myself. It would be hard to list them all. The biggest gift is that I feel more alive than ever.
Last week on the Women Think and Grow Rich Coaching and Conversation hangout, we talked about “Chapter 8: Decision – The Mastery Over Procrastination” from Napoleon Hill’s original edition of Think and Grow Rich.
And WOW! We blew this chapter out of the water.
Hill understood the power of decision and the entire chapter is about the courage it takes to make a powerful decision like the one it took to create The United States of America. One of the participants, said she could feel herself getting angry while reading this chapter. She is not the first person to say that. I’ve been facilitating Think and Grow Rich book studies and master mind groups for years and there are a few chapters that really stir the pot for women. Chapter 11 turns most women off untill they hear what it is really about and many people struggle with the chapter on decision.
A lot of passion goes into raising conscious awareness around any topic. We really had a passionate consciousness raising conversation about decision.
I love how naturally things move when I am tuned into the flow of consciouness that surrounds a great discussion. This week was no different.
There were 3 points that I wanted to make sure we touched upon.
1. Decisions come with equal amounts of opposition to the courage it takes to make the decision. This is important to know as a woman or even as a man who really wants to embody grace and ease in your life. There are decisions that require extreme amounts of courage to make, however most situations don’t require that sort of do or die decision making. When you make a decision you are cutting yourself off from any other option than what you are deciding. Choose and allow the universe to bring you whatever you need.
2. Choosing what you want and moving forward from a place of choiceis a much more graceful way to live. When you make a choice, you make it from a more empowered potition and you create space for your own foward movement without opposition. This may seem like word play, and you’re right. Words have a life of their own and when you choose what you want instead of making a hard decision to have it, you create a “resitence free zone” within your subconscious. One of the guest, Andrea from Toronto, brought up the resitence free zone of choice during the hangout. It is brilliant. And so true. But you have to try it. Start being conscious of the choices you are making every day. Then move your awareness to make choices from a place of desire. Choose what you want and what feels good for you. Making decisions from a place of choice about what you really want instead of making decisions about what you think you should do, have, or be is your powerful point of attraction. Don’t take my word for it, experiment with it.
Choose and allow.
3. The power behind a choice is trust. You can make a decision to have what you want or you can choose what you want, neither words will make any difference in your life unless you take forward action towards the thing you want.If you really want to tap into your personal power, get very comfortable with Trust. When you choose what you want from a centred state of mind and trust yourself enough to take just the next tiny step, that is all you’ll ever need. Every step you take after choosing what you want is the next step. When you learn to trust yourself and trust your creator source, you gain divine momentum. Trust is the fuel that keeps choice moving.
So much came up in the hangout. My greatest inspiration comes in response to the conversation, either live or via email, because I’m sharing what I know to be true.
We are the presence of love.
Bonus Point
This little bonus discussion toward the end of the hangout was so valuable at wrapping up the discussion on the power of choice.
One of the participants said, “I find myself fighting with two sides of myself. The bold me and the other part of me that just wants to stay in bed with the covers over my head.”
When you are in the space of duality, the magic pill is to just appreciate yourself. Self-appreciation is the magic pill. On days when you don’t feel like getting out of bed and you hear that little voice in your head start to criticize yourself for being lazy or unmotivated, choosing to appreciate yourself is a powerful way to shift out of self-pity to self-power. You might say, “Even though I’m feeling, lazy, I completely love myself.” Then you can make a choice to get out of bed or stay in and be lazy. Either way you are in your power because you are making a consious choice.
The more you are aware of the choices you make every day, the more you remain in your power. Being in a state of conscious choice and notincing the choices you are making every day, draws all of your power into the moment. You become aware of yourself and take resposibility for the choice you make. Being in the now, appreciating the moment, and choosing what is next for you now, is where all of your power lies.
Napoleon Hill understood what it feels like to be in a place of masculine power. Choosing and allowing is what it feels like to be in a place of graceful power. Get confortable recognizing what it feels like for YOU to be in YOUR power. This is something that no one can explain to you, you have to feel it and experience it for yourself.
Be patient with yourself too. You want to grow into knowing yourself as someone who chooses excellence, expansion, and more engagement with life, while being completely self-loving and self-appreciating. The emergence of this awareness may take a little wiggling into. It is there. You are already divinely and naturally aligned.
Until next time, Be Grateful, (And appreciate the work you do!) Think BIG, Take INSPIRED Action, and ENJOY the Journey!
When the idea came to me to write a post about the difference between a visionary leader and a luminary leader, I wasn’t sure I knew the difference. I even posted the image I made for this post on Facebook days before writing the actual post, with a question, “Which are you?”
I was hoping that people would raise their hand and identify themselves as luminary or visionary before reading the article. Instead I only got a few bites. The over all consensus was that no one really knew the difference. Which is why I was inspired to look at the difference between visionary and luminary leaders in the first place.
Here is how I interpret the difference.
Visionary Leaders Paint a Picture of Possibility
Nelson Mandela had a vision to see the end of apartheid in South Africa. His vision lead to persistent action and incredible endurance to seeing his vision manifest.
Visionary leaders paint a picture of what they envision is possible for the world, a community, or a project. They seem to have an ability to speak in words that activate all 5 senses. The image they share inspires other people to join them in taking action to see the vision manifest. Visionary leaders are all about the VISION.
Here is what Lisa Petrilli, author of The Introvert’s Guide to Success, says on her website about Martin Luther King, Jr. and his visionary leadership,
“He had an exquisitely clear vision and expressed it magnificently in his, “I Have a Dream” speech. While his goals may have included various steps along the way to passing civil rights legislation, his vision was so much bigger than his goals. His vision described exactly what it looked like when the real impact of his goals were felt, including famously…
‘I have a dream that one day, down in Alabama, with its vicious racists, with its governor having his lips dripping with the words of interposition and nullification; one day right there in Alabama, little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.’
Now that is a vision!
My favorite historical women, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B Anthony, had a vision that women would one day be able to vote alongside men. (Vision) 40 years after both of them had died, women were granted that right. Sometimes being a visionary means you are responsible for painting an image so clear that it can be carried out by the next generation.
Luminary Leaders Light the Way
Google’s online definition of a luminary is, “a person who inspires or influences others, especially one prominent in a particular sphere.”
I like to look at Luminary Leader more literally, a body that gives off light. To me a Luminary leader is one that embodies light so much that they light the path for others. They show you what is possible because they embody their beliefs. They may be one step ahead of you on the path or they may be miles ahead leaving sign posts for you along the way.
Mother Teresa, wasn’t casting a vision and expecting others to follow her. She was lighting the way and embodying the light she wanted others to share. She devoted her life to helping the outcast and impoverished in the streets of Calcutta have someone to care for them in life and in death. Even when she knew what she wanted to do, she had no idea how to go about doing it. And somehow she illuminated the way for others to follow.
Carista Luminare, and Lion Goodman, co-founders of theLuminary Leadership Institute, claim that luminary leaders:
Harness the powers of their True Self
Embody their noble virtues
Fulfill their soul’s destiny
A luminary leader then embodies as much power and light as possible to fulfill their soul’s destiny or calling. Being a luminary leader takes a lot of self-reflection and self-growth.
So Are You A Visionary Leader Or A Luminary Leader?
For most leaders, mentors, and coaches, we move in and out of both roles. Sometimes we are a visionary leader with a clear vision of the possibilities we see, and sometimes we are fulfilling our soul’s destiny by lighting the way for others.
One of my favorite ways to serve my coaching clients is seeing the vision of possibility for them. I’m really good at this. Seeing the vision for myself is a bit trickier so I ask my mentors to help me see the possibilities for me and my business. Learning to ask for help in this way, is not always easy for leaders, coaches and mentors. We are ‘supposed’ to be able to use our gifts and talents to help ourselves, right? Not always. Ask for help if you are having a hard time seeing the possibilities.
I have a vision of a world where every girl is free do the work she loves, be in any role she wishes, and have anything her heart desires. I believe that the more I do the work I love and embody the roles I wish to fill and have anything my heart desires, the more I’ll be able to light the way of freedom for others.
“The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.
Attitude, to me, is more important than facts.
It is more important than the past, than education, than money,
than circumstances, than failure, than successes,
than what other people think or say or do.
It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill.
It will make or break a company… a church… a home.
The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday
regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.
We cannot change our past…
we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way.
We cannot change the inevitable.
The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude.
I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it.
And so it is with you… we are in charge of our Attitudes.”
Before I get into today’s note, it may be best that you take a huge deep breath.
Go ahead, breathe.
So, are you setting luminary goals? OR are You still waiting for your divine assignment?
Really think about this.
I had a wonderful “after party” in the green room of my Empire Building Hangout today.
And one of the women who is an artist and a healer admitted that the reason she was struggling with crafting her offer (aka, deciding what service to sell) was that she felt like she was waiting for her next divine assignment. She confessed that not having an offer and not knowing what service she should offer her clients was pretty much stopping her in her tracks. Interestingly enough, she is brilliant at helping other people access new levels of health and awareness, but she was waiting on a sign from the universe that would direct her and tell her what to do.
Can you relate to this? I know I can.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve caught myself waiting for some divine assignment on my Luminary Path. There seems to be an epidemic of highly gifted luminaries waiting… and waiting… and waiting…
Take another deep breath, you might need it.
The divine assignment that you are waiting for the universe to give you, will come from you. Yes, you read that right. You are the divine assignment giver! You knew that intellectually, maybe even spiritually, but have you really thought about that when it comes to setting goals and offering your services? Are you still waiting for God or the Universe to tell you what you “should” do?
Ok, you can breathe now.
There is a huge difference that setting luminary goals makes as opposed to waiting for an assignment. The difference is taking responsibility for your life instead of passing on the responsibility to someone else. Here is where it gets real.
What are Luminary Goals?
Luminary goals are goals made consciously from the awareness of your own divinity. Deep. They are heart felts goals from the core of your being. Luminary goals are goals made from conscious choice that you are the decision maker of what you want to do, not what you ‘should’ do.
Are you starting to feel the difference?
Until you take responsibility for your decisions and your own divine power, you are always going to wait… and wait… and wait.
Setting Luminary Goals Makes Your Life Easier
Luminary goals help you see your own light while you are traveling The Luminary Path. When you know who you are, and you own your gifts and abilities, life becomes so much easier. You stop making excuses as to why you can’t do what you want to do in your business and you start trusting yourself as a powerful co-creator with the Source of all creation.
It really is a magical way to build your business.
Let me know what you think.
Share what you appreciate about yourself below. Three times a year I do a Sacred Art of Self-Appreciation Challenge during Mercury Retrograde. It is a great way for you to practice self-appreciation while being witnessed by others in a group.
Marketing madness is a disease that causes coaches to run around madly, chasing the next big marketing idea or marketing tool, and never really stand still long enough to appreciate the clients they already have in their business. I’ve been there. There is no shame in admitting it.
How to Cure Marketing Madness and Create Marketing Magic
When you suffer from marketing madness, it is intense. You see a great new marketing tool that promises more clients, more money, less time and you buy into it because you really do need those things. So you invest your time and money into learning how to use the tool until you realize that you need another tool to make that tool work more effectively and you invest in that and learn how to use that tool until you realize…. you get the picture. You may even follow a few different marketers to learn their secrets.
I’ve done this so many times over the years, that I should have been arrested several times for inappropriate use of time and money in my business.
Marketing Madness is a SYMPTOM of Something Much More Serious
When you find yourself chasing some new tool that promises to give you a solution of more money, more clients, less time, try to understand you are not really CHASING anything. The truth is you are running away from something much bigger. You are running away from YOU. You are running away from discovering the heart of your business. Marketing Madness keeps us from going deeper with our clients, discovering who they really are, and what really keeps them up at night. Marketing Madness is a disease that keeps you from the heart of what business is all about, connecting and communicating your value to people who deeply understand and desire the solutions you offer.
Simply speaking, Marketing Madness is a symptom of a subconscious fear of failure or fear of success. Fear of failure and fear of success are simply 2 sides of the same coin. The Coin called “Not Knowing Who You Are.” Not knowing who you are manifests as chasing or hiding, sometimes both.
I Understand, I’ve Been There.
“Hiding” by Jacky Gerritsen
We make life so much harder on ourselves than it has to be. Now when I get a sense that I’m struggling in any area of life, I ask myself, “How am I boxed in by the “Should’s” of others?”
This is really big for me. I like to learn from people who are the best in their industry. And when I’m learning from them, I watch how they run their business. I pay attention to the tools they are using to grow their business and I pay attention to how they market. And I emulate. If they said, “Send a 3-2-1 email.” I’d send it. If they suggested speaking, I’d speak. “Buy this new teleseminar tool”, I’d buy it! “Go with this email service”, that is who I’d choose. However, when I’ve done this in the past, it created A LOT of internal pressure. I was doing everything I thought I should do and I the internal pressure to do more only grew!
Like I shared this week in my newsletter, “The more I did, the more it was expected that I could do things for other people or in a way that was more suitable for others. No matter what I did, I felt pressure and the only way the pressure would go away was to do more. I was completely burnt out from the pressure to succeed and more importantly the pressure to fulfill the expectations of my family, my mentors, society, the coaching industry, you get the picture. ”
Take a Break
This year I took a break from a lot of things that intensified the pressure. You can see the short list here. These two posts are about the same thing, stopping the madness of external pressure to succeed and reconnecting to your true essence and gifts. It has been a long journey learning who I am in a way that feels authentic and not boxed in by the should’s of Business and Marketing.
I wouldn’t suggest taking a break when you are just starting out, I’d suggest starting out right. However if you have been in business for over 3 years and you haven’t figured out how to stop the pressure of Marketing Madness and start creating Marketing Magic, here are a few things that work for me to create Marketing Magic in your luminary business.
Connect to Who You REALLY Are
It seems like most coaches lose themselves to the disease of “Marketing Madness” when they start to market. I know did. It was fun for a while showing up with my marketing mindset on and totally forgetting who I was. I learned a lot about marketing over the years, but I am not a marketer, I am a coach and a luminary leader. Sometimes I’d forget to market my services because I was sharing the newest marketing tool. I doubt that anyone else had Marketing Madness as bad as I did. It was very confusing for my market and they just didn’t know how to refer me. Was I a marketer, or was I a business and life coach? Who knew!
Now when I find myself suffering from Marketing Madness, I ask myself, “Am I am marketer, or am I a highly gifted luminary leader who gets to joyfully market her programs?”
I am a gifted luminary leader!
Deeply Connect with Your Community
Let them know you are vulnerable to the same BS (Belief Systems) they are subject to. And share stories of how you overcame the obstacle to get what they want. Don’t be afraid to go deep and then go deeper.
When my mentors told me to share my story, I thought, “I don’t have a story.” So I’d share other people’s stories. I shared the successes of my clients. The problem was I didn’t always share their struggles. I was simply thrilled to share the happy upside of working with me, and I love sharing my client’s successes. That may not be a huge problem except I was creating a connection between my clients and no connection with me. I may be over exaggerating a bit here to make a point. While I was trying to figure out my “branding story,” I wasn’t appreciating the amazing value of sharing the stories of what is going on with me right now. And I was missing the heart of my business, which is deeply rewarding connections with my community. Remember that email I sent out? I received so many heart felt responses to it, people told me what they were going through. Those responses gave me an opportunity too know my community more intimately. Sharing stories of what is currently or recently happening in my life creates deeper connections.
People relate to your vulnerabilities more than your successes. And if you are being completely honest with yourself, it doesn’t matter how amazing things look, you are growing and growing is all about vulnerability and new experiences. People want to engage with real people who share their feelings. They will share their stories with you, when you share yours.
Every story matters. Everyone at the end of the day wants to know if you saw them and heard them and that they matter. – Oprah
Show Them You Care
Make their lives easier for them and show them you care. I’m committed to creating coaching programs and teaching classes that make life easier for luminaries. It is hard being a luminary leader. We have families, we want to travel, we want to connect deeply, and we want our freedom all at the same time. There are a lot of people who want to help you and there are a lot of things they tell you you “should” do. It is easy to follow the white rabbit down the marketing tunnel and lose site of what is important, your relationship with their community- both current and future clients.
Communicate your vulnerabilities and share your solutions while helping your community in as many ways as you can. If you are launching a new free ebook or report, let your current clients know first and ask them if they have anything they would add. If they do, and it fits, add it to the ebook. Be a part of their lives if you can.
Place in Your Heart by Anastasiya Malakhova
Several of my mentors have a policy of not letting their community bother them. They sit on a throne and act as gurus if you want to talk to them you have to pay lots of money for a short phone call. This just doesn’t work for me. I tried it. I would feel horrible when I was finished, like there was no soul to the work I was doing. Now I want people to call me if they think they are ready to work with me. I can help them decide which program is best for them. They may not be ready to create their own mastermind or activation group, and may benefit from a VIP day, or I might suggest they join my 12 Seeds of Wealth Activation Life Mastery program. If they are new to coaching or just want a refresher course on the best of personal development, I send them straight to my Women Think and Grow Rich book study course. I have lots of resources and a quick email or a phone call during normal business hours can really help people connect with the soulution that is best fit for them. I even share my birthday ritual a week before people’s birthday, if they sign up to get it. For my community of luminaries, being accessible is an important way I show them I care. This may change over time, however I really do care about my community of luminaries. There is a lot of good that we are bringing to the world and there is no reason to struggle in any way.
People need your solutions. They need to know what you ave to offer. Your community wants to know that you have products and services to help them with the things they struggle with most. They really want to know that you care and appreciate them.
Create Marketing Magic
Be creative! Creating Marketing Magic is deeply rewarding and it is not as hard as learning how to use a new marketing tool. If you can think of marketing in the most simplest terms it will help. Marketing is communicating and sharing how you can help and what you offer to the people you choose to serve. And how you CHOOSE to communicate to the people you choose to serve will let them know if you care or not, if you understand their pain, and if you have a solution for them. It really is simple. Stop doing things you think you should be doing and start connecting more deeply with the people you choose to serve.
