How to Participate in My Video Workshops

If you have enrolled in one of my video workshops or you are thinking of enrolling, you’ll want to practice “joining” before the workshop begins.   I’ve created this post to help make it easy for you to join and participate fully.    This is so much easier than most people think.

There are a million ways to do video classes and video workshops, I’ve found that Google “Hangouts” is by far the easiest way to host and participlate in a live, interactive, and virtual event.   It truly is the next best thing to being there live.   I’m able to easily record the workshop with both audio and video so you can catch the replay if you miss a session.  However you really won’t want to miss any part of my workshops.

What You Need To Get Started

You’ll need to download Google’s “Hangout” app from your computer, android device, iPad, iPod, or iPhone.   It comes pre-installed on android smartphones and tablets, so you may already have it.  If you have an iPhone, iPad or iPod you can download the app from iTunes.

Joining From Your Smart Device -iPad, iPod, iPhone, or Tablet

Using your smart device is by far the easiest way to join AND it provides the best quality video image and connection speed.   Click the image to find the right app for your device.

Joining from a Computer or Laptop

If you are joining one of my workshops on your computer or laptop, you are going to need to download and install the Hangout app as an extension to your Chrome browser.  Click the image to download the chrome browser from Google.

Testing Things Before The Workshop Starts

Once the Hangouts app is installed and you want to test it out, all you have to do is click the link below to start your own hangout.

Start a Hangout Here

When you get in you’ll see your own video or icon at the bottom right corner.  Click on your image and you’ll see how you look on the inside of a hangout.   You’ll get a message to invite other people to your hangout, you can hit ‘cancel’ or you can invite someone you know to join you.  Like I said, it is pretty easy.

Oh, and if there is anything you need to set up in order to use the hangout, Google will walk you through it step by step after you click the link above.

Getting Into The Workshop

Once you are enrolled, I’ll send you a link and all you’ll have to do is click on the link at the time of the workshop and you’ll be transported to the inside of the workshop.

More About Hangnouts

If you want to learn more about Hangouts, Hangouts on Air, I have another more detailed post with a couple of videos from some good friends of mine that will help you get started one step at a time.
